Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to fill a Welder/Fabricator position with our fabrication shop, Madden Fabrication, located in NW Portland. The person in this position will be working on several projects utilizing blueprints and welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The ideal candidate will have strong fitting skills and both fluxcore and TIG welding skills.
PAY: $30-$36/hr
Welder/Fabricator Responsibilities:
- Fluxcore and hardwire MIG for other structural steel projects.
- Fit and fabricate from prints.
- TIG welding valve gate and other specialty projects.
- Work on structural steel columns, beams, stairs, canopies, embeds, access ladders, handrails, grab bars and much more.
Welder/Fabricator Qualifications:
- Able to read blueprints.
- Wirefeed MIG skills.
- Fit and Fabrication skills required.
- TIG welding skills.
- Wirefeed MIG skills.
- WABO certification is preferred. Must qualify to obtain WABO within 30 days of hire if not already held.
- Strong ability to self-manage.
- Must have proper tools to accomplish jobs.
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.
- Ability to read a tape measure and other layout tools proficiently.
- Driver's License and insurable to operate a company vehicle for ship needs.
- Pass a drug screen.
- Must be willing to be clean shaven for a respirator fit test.
