Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and systems in accordance with the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and schematics to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform electrical work on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Test electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues accurately.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople such as frame carpenters or general handymen to coordinate work efforts.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and installations for compliance and future reference.
- Follow safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents or hazards on construction sites or industrial environments.
- Read blueprints and schematics thoroughly to ensure precise installation of electrical components according to design specifications.
- Participate in renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical systems while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
Experience
- Proven industrial electrician experience working with complex electrical systems in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Commercial electrician experience handling large-scale wiring projects in retail or office buildings.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used for automation processes within industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of NEC regulations related to high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with construction site work including framing carpentry related to electrical installations.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately for precise execution of tasks.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers as well as power tools like drills and saws.
- Experience working on renovation projects involving existing structures requiring careful modification of electrical wiring.
- Knowledge of schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical issues efficiently.
