Responsibilities
- Support the company's B Corporation certification and ongoing compliance efforts.
- Serve as the primary liaison with our PEO for benefits, compliance, onboarding, and HR administration.
- Create job postings, screen applicants, and conduct initial interviews.
- Coordinate payroll processing and compensation administration.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Coordinate biannual performance review cycles and support managers throughout the review process.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and help foster a positive workplace culture.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and efficiencies as the company continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist role.
- Experience working with a PEO and HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, New York State, and New York City employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and performance management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast paced, growing environment.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting a growing small business is a plus.
- Experience with B Corporation certification or ESG initiatives is a plus.
