Position Summary
Prime Line Workforce, Inc. is seeking experienced, safety-focused Forklift Operators for potential assignments with warehouse, distribution, production, and manufacturing employers throughout Kern County.
Candidates must be able to operate powered industrial equipment responsibly while maintaining strong attendance, clear communication, inventory accuracy, product quality, and workplace safety.
Equipment Experience
Experience operating one or more of the following is preferred:
- Sit-down forklift
- Stand-up forklift
- Reach truck
- Cherry picker or order picker
- Electric pallet jack
- Clamp truck
- Other powered industrial equipment
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned forklifts and powered industrial equipment.
- Load and unload trailers, containers, racks, and staging areas.
- Move, stage, replenish, and store products and materials.
- Pick orders and place inventory in designated locations.
- Verify product numbers, quantities, lot codes, locations, and shipping information.
- Complete required pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Immediately report equipment damage, mechanical problems, safety hazards, accidents, and near misses.
- Follow applicable OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, traffic rules, and equipment operating guidelines.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, food-safety requirements, sanitation procedures, and quality standards when applicable.
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse, staging, charging, and equipment areas using 5S principles.
- Help prevent product damage, inventory errors, and unsafe storage conditions.
- Use RF scanners, warehouse management systems, or inventory documentation when required.
- Support shipping, receiving, production, inventory control, and general warehouse operations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, spotters, shipping personnel, coworkers, clients, and Prime Line Workforce representatives.
- Maintain dependable attendance and report to each scheduled shift on time and ready to work.
- Notify the appropriate supervisor and Prime Line Workforce as soon as possible regarding an emergency, absence, delay, or scheduling issue.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when forklift work is not immediately available.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operating experience is required.
- Experience in a warehouse, distribution, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Current forklift certification is preferred; equipment experience may be subject to verification and client-specific evaluation.
- Ability to complete a practical forklift skills assessment when required.
- Knowledge of forklift safety practices and pedestrian awareness.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with 5S workplace organization is preferred.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, and supervisor instructions.
- Strong attendance, punctuality, and dependability.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, depending on the assignment.
- Reliable transportation to the assigned work location.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when required by the assignment.
