Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Volleyball Coach to lead one of our many teams in developing skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in volleyball fundamentals and experience working with students of various ages. Our teams range from U13-U18. This role involves planning and conducting practices and creating lineups for competition, mentoring athletes and upholding standards and the culture of our club, and fostering a positive environment that encourages personal growth and athletic excellence.
High Mountain Volleyball Club (HMVB) is a non-profit organization created from a passion to foster youth athletic development in the upper Roaring Fork Valley. Our mission is to bring more volleyball opportunities to girls looking to grow their athletic skills but also shape themselves into resilient and confident individuals with outstanding character traits.
Our club travels locally around Colorado to regional competitions and on occasion to larger national tournaments and neighboring states as well. We believe in advancing personal and athletic growth through a spectrum of challenging competitions where our athletes will not only refine their volleyball skills but will also learn the values of perseverance and sportsmanship.
Our season goes from December 2025 through March 2026. Practices are 2 days/week at 1.5 hours each, typically in the evening. Winter break (Christmas & first week of January) is off. Tournaments will begin in January and are held on weekends in Denver. Each team has a different tournament schedule based off of their age group. We can place coaches with a team that will work best for them and their experience in coaching. Pay is based off of hours coaching practices and tournaments.
Duties
- Coach practices two days per week (evening hours, Aspen-Basalt based)
- Travel and coach at tournaments (locations vary, typically Denver based)
- Referee at tournaments with team (training provided)
- Develop and implement drills tailored to the skill levels of the team assigned
- Provide constructive feedback to players to enhance their performance
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, grit, discipline, and team cohesion
- Communicate effectively with athletes and parents regarding team progress and expectations. Additionally, create positive relationships with families to create fun environments while traveling to tournaments
- Communicate with club director regarding practice and tournament information
Qualifications
- Previous volleyball athlete (preferred)
- Previous experience in coaching youth sports (preferred but not required)
- Comfortable driving through winter road conditions to practices and tournaments
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate young female athletes
- Commitment to your athletes and the schedule set by the club director (December-march)
- USAV SafeSport & Impact certified (completed after hiring process)

Pay: $600.00 - $2,300.00 per month
