UnderCover UnderCoaters is growing in it's second year and seeking a Mobile Undercoating Technician to serve customers in Boston Metro-North, Metro-Northwest, and Southern NH. This is a field role for someone who can work independently, with quality control checks. You’ll be applying Lanolin rust protection with spray guns directly underneath ramped-up customer vehicles at their homes or businesses. Hourly pay PLUS TIPS that can range from $0 to $120 a day. Our single day record for tips is $185. Additionally, $2,000 total in retention bonuses - one in fall, and one at end of year. A lucrative role for a hard worker that is good with people.
High attention to detail and quality is required. This is a physically demanding and dirty job that requires crawling on covered ground, under vehicles, often in hot conditions. At times you will be wearing a full tyvek suit, mask and safety goggles in the summer heat.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Drive to pre-set customer appointments in our van, occasionally scrap existing rust flakes, and apply undercoating to as many as 3-5 vehicles per day
- Handle basic customer communication (calls, texts, in-person) in a friendly manner
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle setup
- Learn and follow an efficient, repeatable service system
- Meet high quality standards through random quality control checks

Requirements:
- High attention to detail and quality is an absolute must
- Must have a good driving record of FOUR YEARS MINIMUM DRIVING
- Hands-on/mechanical experience preferred but NOT required
- Strong communication skills, time management, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Occasional lifting of heavy equipment
- Frequent squatting and crawling underneath vehicles in full Tyvek protective suit, in hot conditions
Relevant Experience Might Include:
- Auto detailing, auto body or automotive repair
- Mobile services (e.g., dent repair, tire replacement)
- HVAC, electrical, or plumbing
- Landscaping, masonry, pressure washing, or similar trades

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour + TIPS + $2,000 in fall and end of year retention bonuses
Expected hours: 25 – 45 per week. Can vary week to week. Fall is very busy. Will consider part-time applicants.
Schedule:
- Roughly Monday to Friday. Weekends possible if desired. Could work out 3 or 4 day work-week for right candidate.
