Job Summary:
The Operations Technician will support both quality and operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participate in the installation, operation and training of new equipment for processing and packaging.
- Maintains technical equipment in support of operations, such as coders, tape machines, labelers, etc.
- Maintains technical data on information technology, processing equipment and the general plant programming through close coordination with internal maintenance staff and third-party contractors.
- Handles company IT issues.
- Operates processing and/or packaging equipment.
- Conducts raw material, environmental, and finished product testing.
- Participates in identifying and analyzing issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products.
- Assists the VP with BOLs and shipping/receiving appointments in times of VP absence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- The incumbent in this position will be positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.
- Incumbents are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
- Supports audit functions as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, local and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines and policies. Responsible for compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Assists management with administrative tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a field related to the products being developed preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in related field required with food safety and quality experience in manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
- Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, bending in an office and production environment.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
