Our company is a leading player in the desktops laptops device secondary marketplace, specializing in the import/export, trade-in solutions, and wholesale distribution of laptops and desktops. We were named in the INC 500 list in both 2014 & 2015 and named one of Forbes's Most Promising Companies in 2015.
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Freight Broker / Logistics Specialist to manage and optimize our outbound and inbound freight.
Our company currently spends approximately $1.2–$1.5 million annually on freight, providing a significant opportunity for an experienced broker with strong carrier relationships and negotiating skills to generate savings.
This opportunity is best suited for an experienced freight professional who already has strong carrier relationships and is confident they can consistently obtain better rates than our existing freight process.
If you can save us money while maintaining reliable service, we are prepared to split those savings with you 50/50.
This is a commission-only opportunity with substantial earning potential. You will receive 50% of the verified savings you generate compared with our current/normal freight costs.
For example, if a shipment would normally cost us $2,000 through our existing process and you secure comparable transportation for $1,600, the company saves $400 and your commission would be $200 (50% of the savings).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and broker freight for company shipments throughout the U.S.
- Source and negotiate competitive rates with carriers.
- Utilize your existing carrier network and relationships to obtain better pricing.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries and communicate shipment status.
- Ensure carriers meet required service, insurance, and compliance standards.
- Provide documentation supporting quoted and final freight costs.
- Work closely with our internal team to compare pricing against our normal freight process.
- Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs without sacrificing service or reliability.
Compensation
- This position is 100% commission-based.
- The broker will receive 50% of the verified savings generated on successfully completed loads compared with the company's established baseline freight cost for the same or comparable shipment.
- With approximately $1.2–$1.5 million in annual freight spend, there is meaningful earning potential for someone who can consistently outperform our existing freight procurement process.
Qualifications
- Previous freight brokerage, transportation, or logistics experience strongly preferred.
- Established carrier relationships/network preferred.
- Strong freight-rate negotiation skills.
- Understanding of FTL, LTL, and other common freight services.
- Ability to independently source carriers and manage loads from pickup through delivery.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide transparent pricing and documentation.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working under a performance-based compensation structure.
