A Different Kind of Physical Therapy Practice
STRYDE Physical Therapy is a growing, independent physical therapy and performance practice in Grand Rapids built around a simple belief:
People deserve more from physical therapy.
More time. More attention. More individualized care. More opportunity to understand their bodies and become stronger, more capable, and more confident.
We believe great physical therapy is about more than treating an injury or getting someone out of pain. It's about understanding the person behind the diagnosis — their goals, lifestyle, movement, concerns, and what they want to get back to doing.
We treat the person, not just the injury.
At STRYDE, we're intentionally different from the traditional high-volume PT model. Our clinicians have the time and autonomy to provide thoughtful, individualized care while building meaningful relationships with the people they serve.
Why STRYDE?1:1 Patient Care
We believe every patient deserves the time and attention they deserve.
Our one-on-one model allows clinicians to be fully present with their patients, listen carefully, think critically, and provide individualized care.
People First
We don't reduce people to a diagnosis, body part, or treatment protocol.
We take the time to understand the individual — what matters to them, what they want to accomplish, and what success looks like in their life.
Individualized Treatment
Every patient has a different history, movement strategy, lifestyle, and set of goals.
We value clinical reasoning and individualized treatment rather than cookie-cutter protocols.
Movement + Performance
We believe physical therapy should be about more than simply returning someone to baseline.
Our goal is to help people build strength, capacity, confidence, and the ability to continue doing the things they love.
Meaningful Relationships
Exceptional care starts with knowing the person sitting in front of you.
We want clinicians who genuinely enjoy connecting with patients and take pride in creating a positive, trusting experience throughout the course of care.
Clinical Growth
We value clinicians who are curious, thoughtful, and committed to continued learning.
STRYDE provides an environment where clinicians can continue developing their skills, expanding their expertise, and learning from both their patients and colleagues.
Autonomy + Quality
We believe clinicians should have the ability to use their education, experience, and clinical reasoning to determine what each patient needs.
Our goal is to prioritize quality of care over volume of care.
Our Interest in Running & Performance
Running is an important part of STRYDE's clinical identity.
We have a particular interest in working with runners and helping them better understand their movement, improve performance, build capacity, and stay healthy doing what they love.
We're especially interested in connecting with a clinician who has a passion for running or an interest in working with runners.
Experience working with runners is a plus, but it is not required. We're equally interested in clinicians who are curious, eager to learn, and excited to develop their expertise.
Our broader performance population may include:
- Runners
- Lifters
- Athletes
- Golfers
- Active adults
- Individuals returning to the activities they love
We want to help people do more than simply recover.
We want to help them keep doing what matters to them.

However, we care just as much about how you think, how you connect with people, and the kind of clinician you want to be.
What It Means to Work at STRYDE
At STRYDE, we want you to have the space to be a clinician, not a conveyor belt.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Slow down and listen
- Ask better questions
- Think critically
- Develop individualized treatment strategies
- Teach patients about their bodies
- Incorporate movement and strength into rehabilitation
- Build meaningful relationships with patients
- Help people return to the activities they love
- Continue growing as a clinician
- Work within a practice that values quality, autonomy, and the patient experience
We're building our team around a shared commitment to exceptional patient care and meaningful clinical work.
Our Philosophy
We don't believe success is simply measured by whether a patient leaves without pain.
Success might be:
A runner trusting their body again.
A golfer getting back on the course.
An athlete returning stronger than they were before an injury.
A lifter getting back under the bar.
A parent being able to keep up with their kids.
Or someone simply feeling confident in their body again.
Those are the outcomes that matter to us.
That's why our approach combines physical therapy, movement, strength, education, and performance to help people not only recover — but continue moving forward.
Don't Just Recover. Redefine How You Move. This Might Be the Right Place for You If...
You believe physical therapy should be more personal.
You want enough time with your patients to actually make a difference.
You enjoy figuring out complex problems rather than following a script.
You believe exercise and movement should be central to rehabilitation.
You want to work with people, not just diagnoses.
You have an interest in working with runners or performance populations.
You want to keep learning.
You want to build meaningful relationships with your patients.
And you want to practice in an environment where quality of care comes before volume of care.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
