Job Summary
Hospital in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in both Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) settings. The RRT will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders across a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator management
- Assess, monitor, and document patient respiratory status and response to therapy
- Manage mechanical ventilation for adult and neonatal patients
- Assist with intubation, extubation, and airway management
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and modify care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential – NBRC
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU experience
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent RRT experience
- Required experience in:
- Adult ICU settings
- NICU or Neonatal care
- Experience with ventilators, arterial blood gases, and critical care procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel experience
- Experience in a high-acuity hospital setting
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems
Additional Details
- Weekly gross pay: $2,400
- Evening/PM shift coverage required
- Multiple start dates available: July 13 and July 20
