A Fairfield County law firm is seeking a full-time receptionist to join its busy and growing practice. The firm primarily practices family law and is looking for a professional, reliable, and organized individual to serve as the first point of contact for clients, attorneys, court personnel, and other professionals.
Although this position is for a receptionist, there is significant opportunity for the right candidate to learn and take on legal assistant and paralegal responsibilities over time. This is a strong opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in a law firm setting and developing skills in family law, litigation support, client communication, and case management.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering phones and greeting clients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner;
- Scheduling appointments, court dates, conferences, and meetings;
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail, email, and documents;
- Assisting attorneys and staff with administrative tasks;
- Maintaining client files and office organization;
- Communicating with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other professionals;
- Assisting with preparation of correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as skills develop;
- Supporting attorneys and paralegals with case management and general office needs.
Skills
- Excellent phone manner
- Proficiency in English
- Outstanding time management, organizational and typing skills
- Ability to multitask and be comfortable dealing with a diverse group of people
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Working knowledge of online court-filing systems, Family Law Software, and TimeSlips legal billing software is a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
