Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnose psychiatric conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes. Your expertise will support a diverse patient population, including children, adults, seniors, and individuals in various care settings such as outpatient clinics and and telehealth platforms. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments utilizing advanced clinical skills and medical terminology.
- Prescribe medications and manage psychopharmacology treatments in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including case management and discharge planning.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Athena for accurate medical documentation and medical records management.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to behavioral health services across diverse populations.
- Administer injections, including psychotropic medications and Spravato Treatment.
- Educate patients on mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching strategies to promote wellness.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or in memory care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in behavioral health assessments, acute pain management, crisis triage, and emergency room experience.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools including ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate diagnosis coding and documentation.
- Experience in hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma center environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychopharmacology and medication administration protocols.
- Prior telehealth experience is preferred to support remote patient engagement effectively.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and infection control practices within clinical settings.
