Manufacturing Development Manager
(Relocation to Northwest Georgia Required)
Position Summary
An established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Development Manager to help lead the planning, development, implementation, and long-term operation of a new laminate flooring manufacturing facility in Northwest Georgia.
This is a unique opportunity to join a company during the early stages of a major manufacturing initiative. Working alongside executive leadership and an experienced manufacturing consultant, the successful candidate will help transform strategic plans into an operating manufacturing facility capable of supporting long-term business growth.
This position is intended to evolve into a key operational leadership role as the manufacturing operation expands.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and execution of a new laminate flooring manufacturing operation.
- Partner with executive leadership and outside consultants to develop manufacturing strategies and implementation plans.
- Provide technical expertise regarding laminate flooring manufacturing processes, equipment, production flow, and plant operations.
- Participate in equipment evaluation, supplier selection, facility planning, commissioning, and production startup activities.
- Develop manufacturing procedures, operating standards, quality systems, and production documentation.
- Assist with recruiting, developing, and leading manufacturing personnel.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Help establish preventive maintenance, reliability, inventory, and operational management systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, sourcing, finance, and executive leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Transition into ongoing operational leadership of the manufacturing facility following successful startup.
Qualifications
- Significant experience within laminate flooring manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting new manufacturing startups, facility expansions, or major capital projects.
- Strong understanding of laminate manufacturing processes, equipment, production systems, quality standards, and plant operations.
- Experience leading manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, production, or operational teams.
- Ability to solve complex technical and operational challenges while balancing business objectives.
- Experience working cross-functionally with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and executive leadership.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
