Clinical Operations Manager
A premier refractive surgery practice in San Francisco
I'm a surgeon building a vision correction practice in San Francisco, and I'm looking for an experienced operator to join me as my Clinical Operations Manager. This is a ground-floor role. You'll work directly with me to establish the clinical and surgical operations, starting at pre-launch.
The scope of this role is intentional and will evolve as the practice grows. Early on, you'll be establishing the supply chain, inventory, workflow design, and protocols. Once operational, you'll be hands-on in the clinic and surgery alongside me, scrubbing in, running the laser, and performing technician duties, while we continue to refine the operational infrastructure. As the practice grows, your responsibilities will expand to include staff training, leadership, quality assurance, KPI tracking, and broader clinical operations. On occasion, we'll travel to learn from other leading practices. I require someone with the capability to take on critical responsibilities and the drive to grow with the practice over the long term.
The person I'm looking for pairs rigorous medical compliance with genuine warmth toward patients choosing elective surgery. You're energized by solving problems a startup brings, and you take ownership of outcomes. You grow from challenges and constructive feedback.
What I require: Clinical or surgical experience in ophthalmology, including office-based surgery (OBS) or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting. This role is on-site in San Francisco, full-time, with early surgical day starts.
What I offer: Starting compensation of $90,000 to $100,000, scaling to $120,000 and beyond as you take full accountability for defined milestones across clinical operations, supply chain, training, and management. Benefits include health coverage, PTO, and support toward completing your education and certifications.
If you want to help build the practice from the ground up and be a part of a next-generation medical startup, I'd like to hear from you.
