We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Crane Operator / Offsite Recycling Technician to join our Offsite Crew. This position requires frequent travel to landfill locations throughout North and South Carolina and offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, operating heavy equipment, and traveling to different job sites.
Position Summary
The Loader Operator will work alongside SRG's Offsite Crew to support mobile car-crushing and recycling operations. The primary responsibility of this position is safely operating a loader and other heavy equipment to move, stage, load, and organize vehicles and recyclable materials.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position for someone who is comfortable operating heavy equipment, traveling to different job sites, and working as part of a crew in an industrial environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate a front-end loader and other heavy equipment in support of car-crushing operations.
- Move, stage, load, and organize vehicles and recyclable materials.
- Work closely with the Offsite Crew to keep car-crushing operations moving safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of assigned equipment.
- Identify and report equipment issues or needed repairs.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and minor troubleshooting when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all SRG safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Travel from the Duncan yard to offsite customer and project locations as needed.
- Represent SRG professionally while working at customer locations.
- Assist the Offsite Crew with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous loader or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
- Experience operating front-end loaders, excavators, material handlers, forklifts, or similar equipment is a plus.
- Experience in scrap metal, recycling, automotive salvage, demolition, construction, or other industrial environments is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment problems.
- Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and mobile machinery.
- Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a crew.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred
- Previous landfill, recycling, scrap metal, demolition, construction, or heavy equipment experience.
- CDL preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to travel overnight as business needs require.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
