Duties
- Operate laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, uniforms, and patient clothing efficiently and safely.
- Follow proper chemical handling procedures when using cleaning agents and disinfectants to ensure safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of all healthcare facility areas by performing routine cleaning tasks using appropriate janitorial equipment and techniques.
- Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when moving laundry carts, linens, or cleaning supplies in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Adhere strictly to sanitation protocols to prevent infection spread and ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, and polishing to uphold high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Document all laundry processes and cleaning activities accurately in accordance with environmental services procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to chemical handling, manual handling, and environmental services is essential.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as washers, dryers, floor buffers, and other janitorial tools effectively.
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards specific to healthcare settings to support infection control efforts.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while following safety protocol adherence.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward patients, staff, and visitors.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
