Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will utilize advanced sonography techniques to produce detailed medical images that assist in diagnosing a wide range of conditions. Your expertise in obstetrics and gynecology (Ob/Gyn), and medical imaging will be essential in providing exceptional patient care.
Duties:
- Perform high-quality basic and comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound imaging exams in accordance with established AIUM and ACOG guidelines and protocols under the supervision of the practice physicians.
- Exercise discretion and judgement during the diagnostic exam.
- Operate ultrasound equipment data acquisition, reconstruction of images and documentation of images to record anatomic, pathologic, and physiologic data for interpretation by the physician/radiologist.
- Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and provide reassurance, demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret imaging results, assist in diagnosis, and prepare detailed reports for clinical review.
- Ensure the ultrasound images are properly stored and reported on
- Utilize the practice's EMR systems for proper acquisition of images, reporting with physicians, staff and patient communication.
- Maintain equipment and software by following all operating instructions, performing quality control checks of sonographic equipment, backing up computer and software data, and performing preventative maintenance.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- Must be licensed and certified in ultrasonography through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in a specialty that is appropriate for this position (OB/GYN)
- Successful completion of a formal 2 year training in an ultrasonography program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee for Education in the Radiological Sciences (JRCERT) of the American Medical Association/Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CME compliant
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service create positive patient relations
