Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our fast-paced dealership team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repairs. Your enthusiasm, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication skills will ensure a seamless service experience. You will coordinate between customers and our skilled technicians, providing accurate estimates, explaining repair procedures, and upselling additional services to enhance vehicle performance and safety. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools and estimating software
- Prepare detailed service estimates, including labor, parts, and additional recommended repairs or upgrades
- Communicate clearly with customers about necessary repairs, costs, timelines, and available options
- Upsell relevant services such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, transmission repairs, and collision repairs to maximize customer value
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Manage service writing processes accurately while handling cash transactions and maintaining proper records
- Use computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems to generate precise repair estimates for collision or bodywork jobs
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all customer interactions, service orders, and repair histories
- Foster strong client relationships through transparent communication and exceptional service delivery
Skills
- Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician with a solid understanding of automotive repair processes
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems (including transmissions, brakes, shocks & struts), and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of varying knowledge levels
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and trust with customers
- Experience with dealership operations or collision repair environments is highly desirable
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes such as auto service writing and collision damage assessment
- Mechanical aptitude combined with hands-on mechanic experience is a significant advantage
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for test drives if necessary
- Cash handling skills along with attention to detail in record keeping
- Experience with Tek-Metric is a plus.
