A leading general contractor is seeking an experienced Director of Preconstruction to lead preconstruction activities across Miami and South Florida. This senior leadership role will oversee projects from initial pursuit and conceptual budgeting through GMP development, procurement, and turnover to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preconstruction for multiple complex projects and pursuits.
- Oversee conceptual estimates, detailed budgets, GMPs, bid packages, and estimate reconciliations.
- Develop project-specific procurement, scheduling, logistics, and risk-management strategies.
- Partner with clients, developers, architects, engineers, and trade contractors throughout the design process.
- Lead design-to-budget, constructability, value-analysis, and scope-review efforts.
- Monitor South Florida labor conditions, material pricing, escalation, and subcontractor coverage.
- Support client presentations, interviews, and strategic business-development pursuits.
- Ensure an effective transition from preconstruction to project operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop preconstruction managers and estimators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 12+ years of commercial construction experience, including significant preconstruction or estimating leadership.
- Experience managing large-scale multifamily, mixed-use, high-rise residential, hospitality, commercial, or higher-education projects.
- Strong knowledge of conceptual estimating, GMP development, procurement, constructability, and risk management.
- Established knowledge of the Miami and South Florida subcontractor market.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and client-management skills.
- Proficiency with industry-standard estimating, scheduling, takeoff, and document-management platforms.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
