Lead the Refurbishment & Electrification of Used Isuzu NPR-HD & NRR Trucks:
Join our dynamic team and play a critical role in our mission! You'll be responsible for supervising all shop activities related to preparing pre-owned Isuzu NPR-HD and NRR trucks for their exciting new chapter as electric vehicles. You'll utilize your expertise in brakes, suspension, and other essential systems while leading a team of technicians to ensure trucks are mechanically sound and ready for the electric conversion process. You will also install and oversee installation of our conversion kit that makes the truck fully electric.
Here's what you'll do:
- Supervise, mentor, train, and lead technicians involved in truck refurbishment and electric vehicle conversion activities.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, and schedule daily and weekly shop workloads to meet production goals and delivery schedules.
- Interview, hire, onboard, and train new technicians and shop personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance management for team members.
- Diagnose and repair key mechanical systems (excluding engines and transmissions) in pre-owned Isuzu NPR-HD and NRR trucks aged 5-15 years, focusing on brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components.
- Oversee and perform restoration of key components to optimal performance, prioritizing safety, reliability, and smooth operation for electric conversion.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Follow and enforce strict quality standards and manufacturer guidelines to ensure all repairs meet Evolectric's high standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to ensure trucks are structurally sound and ready for electric conversion.
- Remove and supervise removal of engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, and fuel systems to prepare trucks for conversion.
- Monitor shop productivity, quality, safety, and adherence to company procedures.- Maintain records of repairs, inspections, technician assignments, and training activities.
- Assist with inventory management, tooling requirements, and shop resource planning.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Some travel is possible, up to 4 weeks per year.
- Learn to install and supervise installation of our conversion kit on the used trucks that you've prepared.
- Learn EV safety and EV troubleshooting and ensure technicians follow all EV safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven understanding of mechanical systems, including diagnosis, repair, and troubleshooting, with a strong focus on brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on light or medium duty trucks.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership, lead technician, foreman, or supervisory experience in a vehicle maintenance or repair environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow technical procedures meticulously.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, train, and develop technical personnel.
- Experience scheduling work, coordinating resources, and managing multiple projects efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused work ethic with a passion for exceeding expectations.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing and supporting a team.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Must have personal transportation and be punctual with work attendance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
