Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks and similar vehicles in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies
- Load, unload, and secure cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as needed
- Drive route schedules to deliver goods promptly while maintaining accurate delivery documentation
- Assist with moving items within warehouses or delivery sites using manual lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all safety standards
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling packages or equipment to prevent injuries or accidents
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience or experience as a courier or delivery driver is highly preferred
- Familiarity with driving a box truck or similar commercial vehicle, including manual transmission operation
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace
- Experience with route driving, load & unload procedures, and moving goods efficiently
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification is a plus)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and vehicle safety standards
- Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients and team members
