Position is responsible for performing diagnostic assessments, SSPI’s, developing treatment plans, and providing direct treatment services for adults experiencing substance use disorders through individual, group, and family therapy as well as Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) in a substance use continuum of care modality.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides crisis intervention and ongoing direct treatment: individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy based on client needs.
Facilitates the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), utilizing evidenced based program curriculum as well as incorporating individual service plan (ISP) goals of clients into IOP treatment.
Provide competent and ethical therapy with clients to assist clients in achieving stated goals and objectives and meeting productivity protocol for therapy.
Performs diagnostic assessments, SSPI’s, and develops appropriate individual service plans (ISP), consistent with the needs of the client.
Participates in regular interdisciplinary staff meetings, doctor staff meetings and OBAT Program supervision; accepts assigned cases; and assists in accurate diagnosing, treatment planning, and treatment of clients served.
Consults with the OBAT staff, other NWCSB staff, and community-referring agencies regarding clients who are appropriate to be referred and served within this program or who are being served in the program, complying with laws and standards, and makes appropriate staff aware of referral criteria as well as ongoing consultation regarding treatment.
Demonstrate appropriate & complete documentation of treatment – related information including diagnostic summaries, treatment plans and reviews, progress notes, correspondence, releases of information, in compliance with agency standards and DMAS regulations.
Participates in regular group supervision and individual supervision as a means of enhancing professional growth, reviewing the provision of clinical services, and addressing administrative issues.
Maintains good communication and collaborative relationships with community referring agencies to formulate appropriate collaborative intervention strategies.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor which are consistent with the position, and in compliance with the agency policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A combination of education, experience, and training that is indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position required.
A master’s degree in a relevant human services field required.
Virginia license eligibility (LPC or LCSW) required. License preferred.
Experience working with clients with substance use disorders in a clinical setting required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and be able to provide own transportation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be exposed to allergenic environments from client’s homes, including dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
May be exposed to clients with infectious diseases.
Must be able to drive for long periods of time to travel in and out of the catchment area as needed.
Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds at times.
