Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support kitchen operations
- Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas (bussing) and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with sanitation standards
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and ensure all surfaces meet sanitation requirements
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and crates while adhering to proper lifting techniques for safety
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food handling safety
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or cleaning machinery is a plus
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining hygiene standards and adhering to kitchen health regulations
- Good manual handling skills with an understanding of food handling protocols
- Prior experience with food preparation or kitchen experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory
