Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Receiving Associate to join our dynamic warehouse team in our Elk Grove, IL. location. In this vital role supporting seamless warehouse operations and performing duties such as packing, loading, and incoming weigh- in duties.
Duties Include:
- Receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries for accuracy and damages, verifying against purchase orders using warehouse management system
- Performs weigh-in and shipping functions according to documented work instructions; ensures that all paperwork is complete and properly filled out before packaging;
- reviews all shop order instructions, customer paperwork and appropriate charts to ensure all product conforms to the customer's specifications;
- maintains all work areas to ensure that they are always clean and organized; reviews all required information such as temperatures, load and container locations, initials, etc. are on shop orders; obtain supervisor approval for all process deviations; update shop order locations on the bar code system through accurate and timely scanning;
- Break loads and move product using hand or mechanical means within safety standards; be aware of the status on all jobs within the department and if additional procedures will be necessary on promised work.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by departmental supervisors. Understand and follow all departmental work instructions
- Must pass certification requirements to be a licensed fork-lift operator.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse environment
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including reach trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts (certification preferred)
- Good math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members
- Physical ability to stand for extremely periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
