Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons in general science and introductory artificial intelligence for elementary and middle school students.
- Teach foundational STEM concepts, including scientific inquiry, engineering design, coding fundamentals, data literacy, machine learning concepts (age-appropriate), robotics, and computational thinking.
- Design and implement project-based learning activities that encourage creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving.
- Facilitate hands-on science experiments and AI-related activities using educational technologies, robotics kits, and digital learning platforms.
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, confidence, and active participation.
- Assess student learning through projects, presentations, quizzes, and ongoing formative assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative STEM and AI curriculum aligned with educational standards.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and learning goals.
- Stay current with developments in science education, artificial intelligence, and educational technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience in science, STEM, robotics, coding, or technology education is preferred.
- Understanding of fundamental AI concepts, including machine learning, computer vision, generative AI, or data science (teaching experience is a plus but not required).
- Experience developing engaging, inquiry-based or project-based learning activities.
- Familiarity with educational technologies and digital learning platforms.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Passion for inspiring young learners and helping students develop curiosity about science and emerging technologies.
- Willingness to continuously learn and integrate new AI tools and STEM teaching practices into the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching robotics (LEGO, VEX, micro, Arduino, etc.).
- Familiarity with beginner programming languages such as Scratch or Python.
- Experience using AI tools responsibly in education.
- Teaching certification or STEM-related certifications are an asset.
- Experience working in after-school, enrichment, or private education programs is preferred.
Pay: $20.00 - $38.00 per hour
