Finish Apprentice
Department: Finishing Operations
Location: Telford, PA
Reports To: Finish Supervisor
Shifts Available: 2nd or 3rd Shift
About the Role
The Finish Apprentice is an entry level manufacturing role designed to build foundational skills within Fres-co’s finishing operations. This position supports production by performing quality checks, packaging finished product, assisting operators, and learning machine operations and changeovers in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do
- Perform quality checks on finished materials during production
- Pack completed bags and pouches into shipping boxes
- Assemble boxes and apply shipment labels
- Fill hot melt units as needed
- Move finished materials to the packing area
- Perform basic QC testing on samples
- Assist operators with machine operation and changeovers
- Help maintain machine operation during operator breaks or absences when trained
- Read and follow production drawings and work instructions
- Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate concerns when needed
- Remove trash and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Follow all plant safety and food safety procedures
- Report safety, food safety, or quality concerns immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
- Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and follow production drawings and instructions
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operations
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and stooping throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
