We are seeking a PT bookkeeper for our growing, inventory-based skincare business, located in Newport RI. We are looking for someone who will join our team and serve as a trusted financial partner rather than simply processing transactions.

For more than 27 years, we have handcrafted premium herbal skincare products that are sold through luxury spas, resort hotels, salons, boutiques, and direct-to-consumer channels. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations. Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts monthly.
Process and reconcile sales from Shopify, Faire, Amazon, wholesale accounts, and other sales channels.
Monitor inventory accounting and cost of goods sold
Prepare monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
Assist with budgeting and cash flow management.
Coordinate payroll with our payroll provider.
Prepare sales tax filings and other recurring financial reports.
Work closely with our CPA to ensure accurate year-end reporting and tax preparation.
Assist with annual budgeting and financial analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Experience with QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of inventory accounting
Experience reconciling multiple sales channels and payment processors.
Knowledge of sales tax requirements.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Preferred Experience: E-commerce (Shopify), Wholesale distribution, Payroll administration, Manufacturing
What We're Looking For: We're seeking someone who enjoys becoming part of a business rather than simply processing transactions. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable providing financial insights that help management make informed decisions. This role will work closely with the Founder, Director of Operations, and outside CPA as needed to ensure the company's long-term strategic goals.
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
