Part-time receptionist and bather position at a busy local grooming salon. This is not your typical sit-down front desk position. There is a significant amount of cleaning and dog handling involved.
Hours: Bathing position starts at 7:30am-8:30am (depending on location), Front Desk starts 8:45am-9:45am or 12:30-1:30pm (depending on the day). We close at 4:30pm but may have to stay later to finish up. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK DURING THESE TIMES. We are open Monday - Saturday, closed Sundays and all major Holidays. Saturdays are a must but you are welcome to request off the occasional Saturday as needed/desired.
Front Desk duties include but not limited to: greeting clients, scheduling appointments over phone and in person, receiving payments from clients, entering new clients into system, cash drawer, phone messages, preparing owners for appointments, assisting clients & groomers with dogs, cleaning, must be a team player and dependable, quality customer service is a must.
Bather duties include but not limited to: Bathing & drying well with good time management, helping front desk and groomers as needed, end of shift cleaning. Experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Prior experience in animal handling is ideal, but not required. Ability to remain calm and focused in a busier environment. Must be able to work in an environment with lots of stimulation at times. Must have a passion & empathy for animals, each employee plays an important role in providing the best experience for each dog that comes into one of our salons.
Starting wage will be based on experience. Performance based raises are offered.
We are small locally owned business with locations in Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Altoona. We are currently looking for someone who is willing to go to both Urbandale & West Des Moines as needed.
