Position Overview:
Sear + Savor, a locally owned smash burger food truck in the heart of Boise, is seeking an experienced and passionate Line Cook to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations, elevate our customer experience, and contribute to the expansion of a beloved local brand.
What This Role Actually Is
This is a line cook role, first and foremost.
You’ll spend most of your time on the line—working speed, consistency, and execution during high-volume service.
Expo is part of the job, but only when needed. The priority is keeping the line tight and moving.
If you’ve worked real volume before, you’ll know exactly what this requires.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Line Cook (~90%)
- Execute burgers and menu items to spec, every time
Expo (~10%)
- Step into expo when needed to support flow
- Help ensure accuracy and organization during peak moments
- Communicate clearly with the line
Dish + Reset (Light)
- Keep tools, stations, and dishes clean and ready
- Maintain a tight, organized workspace
- Support end-of-shift cleanup
- Maintain speed and consistency during high-volume service
- Work clean, controlled, and efficient under pressure
- Stay in sync with the Food Truck Operations Lead

What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year line cook experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
- You move fast without losing control
- Strong attention to detail under pressure
- You don’t need to be managed every second
- Reliable and on time
Non-Negotiables
- Thursday–Sunday availability
- Ability to keep up during high-volume service
- Clear communication during shifts
- ServSafe certification required (Expired? We’ll cover recertification)
- Comfortable working in intense heat
- Able to stand for long hours in a tight space
