Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Assist customers with product questions, product demos, and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring smooth cashier operations
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including cash, credit, and digital payments
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and addressing inquiries professionally
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when assisting customers over the phone or via online communication channels
Requirements
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual settings (if applicable)
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Ability to perform stocking, merchandising, and product demos as needed
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience working in a grocery store or similar retail environment is advantageous
