Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Custodian and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our buildings and grounds. This position supports the mission of the church by ensuring that all facilities are well maintained, secure and ready for worship services, events and daily operation.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all interior areas, including sanctuary, offices, classrooms restrooms, kitchens, community center, missions house and fellowship hall.
- Maintain exterior cleanliness of the campus; sweep walkways, remove debris etc.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and ensuring supplies are stocked and organized
- Follow safety protocols during all custodial activities to promote a safe environment for staff and visitors
- Open and close buildings daily as applicable, ensuring all doors are locked/unlocked
- Support facility upkeep by performing porter duties such as trash removal, restocking supplies, and ensuring common areas are tidy
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Support Safety Committee as needed on Sunday Mornings.
- Assist with the set up & break down of furniture & equipment for worship services, meetings, weddings, funerals and special events.
- Apply ice melt and shovel snow on sidewalks during winter months.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and organization
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within scheduled shifts
- Ability to work independently while following established safety guidelines. - Ability to lift 25-50 lbs, climb ladders and perform physical tasks.
- Two Sundays per month required.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
