Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and reliable Facilities & Workplace Services professional to assist with maintaining the safety and functional operation of a corporate office environment at a top law firm in Manhattan. This role is vital in ensuring that the work environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming for all employees and visitors. You will assist clients with a wide range of workplace support services including facilities and maintenance, changing light bulbs, moving furniture, lifting glass tables, conference room setups, managing daily requests for tasks, and basic repairs/installations/upkeep using hand tools. No prior direct experience is necessary. Related office maintenance or customer service experience is helpful. Basic skills with hand tools are required. Reliability, good communication, and professional attitude are imperative.
Hours are Monday thru Friday, 3PM-11PM.
Shift is 7-hours with one (unpaid) hour for dinner. This is a full-time position. Candidates must be available to work an evening shift weekdays, Monday thru Friday, 3PM-11PM.
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. There are no health benefits or paid vacation times offered with this position. All Federal Holidays are paid days off.
Requirements
Ability to use basic hand tools, perform basic repairs and installations, ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb a ladder to change light bulbs.
Work on multiple floors, and work on your feet for most of the day. Staff works within a small team or independently.
Must complete a daily time sheet, take initiative to complete assigned tasks, communicate effectively with supervisors, clients and staff throughout the shift.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English language, and provide timely responses to emails from Facilities and Workplace Lead & Supervisors
Must have a positive attitude, be respectful, courteous and professional at all times.
Tasks may include :
* Setup/break down conference rooms with chairs & tables for scheduled meetings, conferences, exhibitions, etc.
* Setup/breakdown A/V for weekly meetings, conferences
* Set up pantry areas or meeting rooms with coffee & tea, basic food items
* General cleaning: dusting fixtures, wiping down glass tables, glass walls, wiping down hard surfaces, sanitizing door knobs, etc.
* Inspect light bulbs. Climb ladder and replace non-working bulbs as needed. Replace soap, refill/replace inventory items
* Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdriver, hammer, drill, level, tape measure) for repairs and projects as needed,
* Able to comfortably lift large boxes, glass tables, or items weighing up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
* Escort 3rd party vendors throughout the facility.
* Move shredder bins.
* Monitor, inventory, report issues, etc.
* Manage and complete other tasks as assigned throughout the day
