American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Trauma Surgical Unit position on nights, requiring an active AL or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent specialty experience.

Hospital-based Trauma Surgical Unit (7 South) caring for acute trauma and surgical patients
-
Unit also cares for orthopedic and urology patients

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6

Interdisciplinary team approach collaborating with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
-
Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
-
13-week assignment
-
36 or 48 hours per week accepted
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required as scheduled

Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the health system

Uses Meditech EMR
-
Active RN license - State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)

Associate degree in Nursing

AHA BLS certification (or Red Cross equivalent)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; candidates with 18 months may be considered if working at the highest level of professional license

Must have at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry specialty

No history of license actions, past or current

Provide individualized nursing care to patients hospitalized for trauma, surgery, illness, testing, or observation
-
Work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary care team

Complete an on-site clinical test in addition to an online pre-test

Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
-
Solid navy scrub color required

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
