Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
- Coordinate appointment flow to support efficient clinic operations.
- Send appointment reminders and manage cancellations or rescheduling.
- Maintain accurate and updated patient records.
- Ensure proper organization and filing of patient documents.
- Verify patient insurance information when required.
- Assist with billing coordination and collection of patient co-payments.
- Process payments according to clinic policies.
- Communicate patient messages and information to the dental team.
- Assist with additional administrative tasks that support clinic operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical or dental setting
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and health insurance processes preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix or similar platforms
- Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and Medicare/Medicaid procedures
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and clinic management software
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively - Spanish preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical information
