Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Conduct food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards in production and handling
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials or upcoming events
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by ensuring timely food production and plating
- Follow safety standards in food handling, storage, and sanitation to uphold health regulations
- Contribute to catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food industry setting, including restaurant or dietary department roles, is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with skills in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and food safety management practices
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep methods
- Experience with meal preparation, menu planning, and catering is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness, and adherence to safety protocols
