General Purpose of the Job:
As a Food Runner, you must be friendly, attentive and posses good communication skills. A guest’s dining experience depends heavily on food arriving hot, accurate, and promptly, and you play a major role in making that happen. Remember, consistency is a key element in a positive experience. We achiveve this by always following proper food handling and delivery procedures. You should be organized, able tothink and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure, especially during busy rushes. Be guest sensitive and posses a sense of timing and urgency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly, ensuring accuracy of every order before it leaves the pass
- Confirm table numbers and seat positions with the expo or kitchen staff to ensure food reaches the correct guest
- Welcome each guest personally when delivering food and check that the order is complete and correct
- Make guests feel appreciated through your actions and attentiveness
- Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
- Work with others to keep all areas always cleaned and stocked to Tin Star standards
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front of house staff regarding the order status, table changes, or delays
- Carry multiples plates safely and efficiently while maintaining proper food presentation
- Be attentive! Offer refills, condiments, or assistance before the guest asks for it
- Notify servers immediately of any guest needs, concerns or special requests observed while delivering food
- Be alert of guest signal (raising hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge the guest so they know assistance is on the way.
- Ensure hot food stays hot and is delivered promptly to maintain food quality and temperature standards
- Assist with cleaning duties and resetting tables as needed to support overall dining room flow.
- Other duties as directed
Requirements:
- Knowledge of FIFO inventory method.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Knowledge of Tin Star’s food & beverage specifications.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
- State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card.
