Job Title: Construction Technician
Company Overview
GeoPoint is a land surveying company with multiple locations, specializing in land development, geomatics, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
Summary
The Construction Technician will support various construction projects by performing essential technical tasks related to field surveys and CAD drawings. This entry-level role involves coordinating with the Construction Technician Manager and other Construction Technicians, processing field data, and ensuring accurate and organized records.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with preparing basic construction and survey drawings from field As-Built Surveys under supervision.
- Draft topographic, boundary, and construction stakeout plans based on field data.
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation.
- Perform redline markups and revisions from senior technicians or surveyors.
- Assist in processing field data into CAD format.
- Follow company CAD standards and naming conventions.
- Communicate with field crews for clarification on data when needed.
- Coordinate with the Construction Technician Manager and other Construction Technicians.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree or technical certification in CAD/drafting preferred).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D (basic level).
- Basic understanding of construction and/or land surveying terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and survey data.
- Good communication and team collaboration skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities.
- Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights.
- Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed.
- Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks.
- Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas.
- Experience moderate levels of noise indoors or outdoors.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
- Ability to thrive in both team-oriented settings and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
