Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Garden Center Manager to lead our retail and re-wholesale garden center operations. In this role, you will oversee daily store activities, manage a dedicated team, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your leadership will drive sales, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold the highest standards of store presentation and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the retail sales team, providing coaching, training, and development to enhance performance and customer service skills
- Assist with our residential landscaping division to ensure they are able to complete their jobs effectively and efficiently
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, ordering, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure product availability and minimize waste
- Manage store operations such as cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) systems, cashiering, and daily financial reconciliation with accuracy and integrity
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, pricing, and promotional displays that attract customers and boost sales
- Coordinate shift scheduling, staffing levels, and employee orientation to ensure smooth store functioning during all operating hours
- Monitor sales performance metrics, prepare reports on sales trends, budgeting, and operational efficiency for continuous improvement
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, leadership in managing conflicts, and promoting a culture of exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- Extensive horticultural and landscaping knowledge
- Proven management experience in retail or garden center environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of retail industry sales techniques, inventory management systems, POS technology, and merchandising principles
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, recruiting, training & development, employee orientation, and payroll processing
- Experience with bookkeeping, budgeting, cash handling procedures, and operational management within a retail setting
- Ability to lead teams effectively through supervisory experience in retail sales or store management roles
- Organizational skills with attention to detail for stock control, merchandising standards, and store presentation
- Strong leadership qualities with managerial communication skills to motivate staff and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
