Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Aid Officer to assist students in securing financial resources for their education. The successful candidate will evaluate aid applications, determine eligibility, provide counseling on financial aid programs, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. The Financial Aid Officer will work closely with students, families, and campus departments to promote access to educational opportunities and support student retention and success.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive information on various financial aid programs, including grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study opportunities.
- Assist students with the completion of financial aid applications and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
- Conduct financial analysis to determine student eligibility for aid based on federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding financial aid policies and procedures.
- Utilize software systems t for processing applications and managing student records.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless experience for students seeking financial assistance.
- Conduct workshops and informational sessions to educate students about financial literacy and responsible borrowing.
- Review loan processing procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Skills
- Experience with Excel and Word required.
- Strong background in accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial analysis techniques to assess student needs effectively.
- Familiarity with education administration processes related to financial aid.
- Knowledge of loan processing procedures within the financial services sector.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong mathematical skills for analyzing data related to student finances.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a focus on student success.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
