Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Office Manager / Bookkeeper to help manage the daily office, accounting, payroll, and administrative functions of an established local business.
This position is best suited for someone who is organized, trustworthy, comfortable with numbers, and able to handle multiple responsibilities without constant supervision. The right person will play an important role in keeping the office running smoothly and making sure bills, receivables, payroll, records, and customer communication are handled accurately and on time.
Experience with payroll, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general office administration is strongly preferred. Social media experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Running or assisting with payroll
- Maintaining accurate books and financial records
- Handling accounts payable and vendor bills
- Managing accounts receivable and customer payments
- Reconciling accounts and keeping records organized
- Answering phones and assisting customers
- Managing general office communication
- Filing, scanning, data entry, and document organization
- Assisting with invoices, statements, and basic reporting
- Communicating with vendors, customers, and internal staff
- Helping keep the office organized and efficient
- Assisting with social media posts and online business presence as needed
- Supporting ownership and management with administrative tasks
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior bookkeeping, payroll, or office administration experience
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Strong attention to detail
- Good phone and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills
- Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and office software
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
- Dependability and professionalism
Experience with QuickBooks, payroll software, accounting systems, or similar platforms is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Preferred but Not Required
- Social media experience
- Experience creating simple posts for Facebook, Instagram, or Google Business
- Experience in a small business office environment
- Experience working directly with business owners or managers
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position. Typical hours will be 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Compensation
Pay is $15–$25 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, and ability to take ownership of the role.
