Hops and Barleys Pub & Grill in Middletown is hiring 1-2 Line Cooks to join our kitchen team.
Since opening in 2018, Hops & Barleys has been a neighborhood gathering place in the heart of Middletown, known for great food, cold drinks, and a welcoming pub atmosphere. Our menu includes guest favorites like wings, fresh-cut fries, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, appetizers, and dinner entrees. We are looking for dependable cooks who take pride in putting out quality food, keeping a clean station, and working well with the rest of the team during busy service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare menu items according to restaurant standards
- Work grill, fryer, sauté, prep, and plating stations as needed
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Stock and organize stations before, during, and after service
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Help with prep work, cleaning, dish area support, and closing duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed
Schedule:
- Evening shifts
- Weekend availability required
