Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Program Manager to join our client's manufacturing and engineering team in Phoenix, Arizona. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience leading capital projects, facility improvements, engineering program management, and cross-functional initiatives within industrial or manufacturing environments.
In this role, you will oversee capital project planning and execution, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support strategic site initiatives, including new product integration, facility improvements, and equipment implementation. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong project management, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects and facility improvement initiatives.
· Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize capital equipment needs.
· Support new product introductions, facility modifications, and site readiness activities.
· Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
· Manage equipment sourcing, vendor evaluations, pricing analysis, and procurement activities.
· Coordinate project execution with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
· Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
· Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
· Prepare and present project status reports, financial updates, and performance metrics to site leadership.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to long-term operational planning.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
· Minimum of three years of project management experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
· Demonstrated experience leading capital project planning and execution.
· Experience with equipment specification, procurement, and vendor negotiations.
· Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
· Experience developing project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Experience
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
· Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
· Experience supporting manufacturing facility expansion or process improvement projects.
Knowledge of engineering project lifecycle management and capital equipment implementation.
Work Environment
This position is performed onsite in a manufacturing and engineering environment. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, interacting with equipment suppliers and contractors, and managing multiple concurrent projects. The role requires strong organizational skills, regular communication with leadership, and a hands-on approach to ensuring successful project execution.
