Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, REST APIs, and modern software development practices. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications while mentoring junior developers and driving technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise Java applications.
- Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Review code and mentor junior developers.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Work closely with business analysts, architects, QA, and product owners to deliver high-quality software.
- Ensure applications adhere to security, compliance, and coding standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java 8, 11, 17, or newer.
- Extensive experience with Spring Framework, including:
- Spring Boot
- Spring MVC
- Spring Security
- Spring Data JPA
- Experience building RESTful APIs.
- Experience developing microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
- Experience using Git and modern version control practices.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle build tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
- Experience with Redis or distributed caching solutions.
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- Experience implementing OAuth2, JWT, and SAML authentication.
- Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
- Exposure to serverless technologies.
Pay: $90.00 - $100.00 per hour
