Help Businesses Build Better Financial Futures
At Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C., we believe accounting is much more than bookkeeping—it's helping business owners make better decisions.
For nearly 40 years we've helped businesses across Nevada and Montana grow through exceptional accounting, tax, audit, and advisory services. Today our Client Accounting Services (CAS) department is one of the fastest-growing areas of our firm.
We're looking for a leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, embracing technology, and becoming a trusted advisor to business owners.
If you're excited by building high-performing teams instead of simply checking boxes, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
The CAS Manager is responsible for leading our outsourced accounting department.
You'll oversee a team of accountants serving businesses across multiple industries while ensuring every client receives accurate financial information, outstanding service, and proactive business advice.
This position combines technical accounting expertise with leadership, project management, client advisory, and operational excellence.
Success in this role isn't measured by how many journal entries you make—it's measured by the success of your clients and your team.
What You'll Do
Lead Client Relationships
Become the trusted advisor for a portfolio of growing businesses.
You'll regularly meet with business owners to discuss financial results, answer questions, identify opportunities, and help clients make informed business decisions.
Lead the CAS Team
Coach, mentor, and develop accountants at every level.
You'll perform detailed financial reviews, provide technical guidance, conduct one-on-one coaching, and help build future leaders within the department.
Ensure Exceptional Financial Quality
Review monthly financial statements, reconciliations, payroll, sales tax filings, and compliance work to ensure every deliverable meets firm quality standards.
Maintain consistency across engagements while continually improving efficiency.
Manage Department Operations
Monitor workload, budgets, deadlines, and department capacity.
Work closely with firm leadership to ensure projects move efficiently through our Practice CS workflow while maintaining exceptional client service.
Improve Systems & Technology
Help drive innovation throughout the department.
You'll identify opportunities to automate repetitive work, improve workflows, leverage AI and cloud accounting technology, and implement best practices that allow our team to spend more time advising clients and less time performing manual tasks.
Grow Client Relationships
Look for opportunities to provide additional value.
Whether that's outsourced controller services, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, job costing, or technology consulting, you'll help clients solve problems—not just close books.
Build the Department
Help shape the future of one of our fastest-growing service lines.
You'll participate in hiring, onboarding, training, process development, and strategic planning as we continue expanding our CAS practice.
Our Clients
You'll work with privately held businesses throughout the western United States, including:
- Construction Contractors
- Nonprofit Organizations
- Professional Service Firms
- Real Estate Companies

Our team utilizes:
- QuickBooks Online
- QuickBooks Desktop
- GoFileRoom
- SafeSend
- Microsoft 365
- AI-assisted accounting workflows
