Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Utilize educational technology tools to enhance classroom instruction and track student progress.
- Conduct ongoing student assessment and analyze performance data to tailor interventions and support academic growth through multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Manage classroom behavior through effective conflict management and behavior management techniques, ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design, academic interventions, and student performance evaluations to optimize teaching strategies.
- Support children’s overall development by integrating physical play based education activities, and childcare best practices into daily routines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a day care settings or preschool settings; elementary school teaching experience is highly valued.
- Active CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with assessment tools for evaluating student progress.
- Skilled in curriculum development, instructional design, and using learning technology to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Bilingual in Somali is an added advantage.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports behavioral growth and social-emotional learning.
