Titan Metal Company is a growing scrap metal recycling company in Charlotte, NC. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined person to help oversee customer activity in our yard and dismantle vehicles for valuable reusable parts.
This is a hands-on position that combines customer interaction, vehicle dismantling, parts identification, inventory management, and general yard operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, understands basic automotive systems, and can work independently without constant supervision.
This person will help direct customers safely through the yard while also building and managing our growing used auto-parts inventory for online resale.
- Greet customers and direct them to the correct unloading area
- Monitor customer unloading and help maintain safe traffic flow through the yard
- Inspect incoming vehicles for valuable and reusable components
- Test vehicle electronics and components before dismantling when possible
- Remove selected automotive parts efficiently and without unnecessary damage
- Identify parts using VIN information, vehicle specifications, and OEM part numbers
- Photograph, label, clean, and organize removed parts
- Enter parts into the company’s inventory system
- Store parts in their assigned shelf or bin location
- Assist with preparing parts for eBay listings and online sales
- Pull sold parts from inventory and prepare them for packaging and shipment
- Keep the dismantling, storage, and customer unloading areas clean and organized
- Assist with other general yard duties when needed
- Follow all company safety procedures
Parts may include:
- Radios and infotainment systems
- Climate-control panels
- Instrument clusters
- Mirrors
- Tail lights and headlights
- Window and seat switches
- Electronic control modules
- Fuse boxes
- Interior trim and consoles
- Other valuable or commonly requested automotive components
- General automotive knowledge and mechanical ability
- Experience working on or dismantling vehicles is strongly preferred
- Ability to identify common automotive components
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Ability to read labels, record part numbers, and enter accurate inventory information
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Comfortable interacting professionally with customers
- Able to work independently and stay productive
- Able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Able to lift and carry approximately 50–75 pounds
- Valid driver’s license preferred

Competitive hourly pay based on automotive knowledge and experience.

This is an active industrial-yard position. The employee will regularly work outdoors and around vehicles, scrap metal, customers, trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment and compliance with all safety procedures are required.
