Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in both English and Spanish, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Take and record accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical histories and current symptoms using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support when needed.
- Manage medical documentation meticulously, including patient records, ICD coding, and medical histories to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support administrative tasks like appointment scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care settings, or geriatrics to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with proficiency in EHR/EHR systems and medical documentation.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory to facilitate effective communication with diverse patients.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding is essential for accurate patient assessment and recordkeeping.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
- Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units—including Level I Trauma Centers—and inpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR management systems, hospital experience, OR experience, or Level II trauma center experience will be considered advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
