Main focus of role:
To embody the Caffe Nero culture working with your team in Store and to provide the best standards of food and customer service to all our customers. Works to maintain the cleanliness of our facilities and protect the brand. Positively conveys brand and culture messages and represents the values of Caffè Nero as a Cultural Ambassador.
Kitchen Lead Responsibilities:
- Arrive for your shift on time and in proper uniform
- Open kitchen area and prepare all equipment for food production, including slicers, induction burners, and prep stations
- Complete morning pastry bake-off and prepare sandwiches, salads, and remote cooler items according to the daily production chart
- Lead a team of 5–6 kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring all team members follow Nero kitchen standards and food safety guidelines
- Maintain high standards for product quality, presentation, and service while fostering teamwork and efficiency
- Manage daily and weekly ordering, inventory, and prep lists
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly
- Maintain neat, clean, and organized kitchen and coffeehouse areas
- Re-stock items in the kitchen and other service areas
- Ensure all products are stocked, rotated, and properly merchandised
- Always follow guidelines for food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
- Oversee and participate in cleaning duties — including daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning tasks
- Complete on-hand counts for MOD to assist with ordering
- Provide support to the coffee bar as needed (baking pastries, serving customers, washing dishes, etc.)
- Participate in monthly team meetings & deep cleans

Kitchen Lead Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to delegate and motivate a team
- Experience with food preparation, including use of slicers, induction burners, and ready-to-order meal production
- Organization and attention to detail
- Sanitation and cleanliness
- Flexibility and multi-tasking
- Conversational English (required)
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move or handle merchandise that gets delivered or needs to be moved throughout the store generally weighing 0-70 pounds
