Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Therapist to join our mental health and behavioral services team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized therapeutic support to children and their families, fostering emotional resilience and positive development. Duties
- Provide on-site therapy services at local community schools and carry a small caseload in the office.
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, art therapy, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Implement behavioral management strategies and conflict resolution techniques to support children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, or gender issues counseling.
- Collect and document medical records, patient care data, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with case management teams to coordinate services, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.
- Utilize motivational interviewing and crisis management skills to support children experiencing mental health crises or behavioral challenges.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education, working with individuals with disabilities, and behavioral health best practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- Licensed to provide mental health services in Michigan.
- Proven experience working with children in home & community care settings or mental health environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and patient assessment procedures.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards for medical documentation.
- Ability to perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and deliver effective psychotherapy across diverse populations including individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
