About Main Stage Athletics
Main Stage Athletics (MSA) helps Mid-Atlantic youth soccer players get recruited to play in college. We're a soccer-first membership built on SportsRecruits — the same platform college coaches actually use — for a fraction of what the big national services charge. Our head coach is LJ Hicks. We're based on the Eastern Shore and just getting started, which means the person in this seat helps shape how we grow.
The role
You'll own how MSA shows up in the local soccer community — turning club relationships into families we help get recruited. Your main play is simple and proven: run free "how college recruiting actually works" nights for club families, and turn the parents who attend into MSA members. You're not cold-calling strangers; you're being a trusted, helpful soccer person clubs are glad to have around. This is a relationship job, not a desk-sales job.
What you'll do
- Build and prioritize a target list of area clubs (start on the Eastern Shore), ranked by relationship and fit.
- Get the meeting — warm intros first, then referrals, then thoughtful cold outreach to directors of coaching and team coaches. We give you the scripts and a proven playbook.
- Run a short discovery conversation to understand each club's situation and offer the free recruiting night.
- Deliver the workshop — a friendly 45-minute session for families on the recruiting timeline, what coaches look for, and how to build a profile. We supply the deck and run-of-show; you bring the room to life.
- Convert attendees into Foundation members, using our booking and referral-code system so every signup is tracked back to you.
- Keep the pipeline clean in HubSpot (our CRM) and send a short weekly update.
Who you are
- A soccer-community insider — current or former coach, player, club admin, or parent-leader who's trusted in local soccer circles. This is the most important thing.
- Local to the Eastern Shore / Maryland, with reliable transportation and a laptop.
- Comfortable in front of a room of parents — you can teach and connect, not just present slides.
- Relationship-driven and self-directed.
- Available some evenings and weekends, when club families gather.
Nice to have: existing relationships with area directors of coaching or clubs; familiarity with the college recruiting process; experience speaking to groups. We'll teach you the recruiting content and the tools — we can't teach soccer credibility.
The deal
- Independent contractor (1099), roughly 10–20 hours/week, flexible around club calendars.
- Pay: a $1,000/month retainer, plus $125 for each workshop you deliver and a $40 bounty for every Foundation membership that traces back to you (tracked automatically with referral codes; the bounty is paid once the member completes their first paid month). On a productive month that works out to roughly $1,800–2,500. We'll run the first 90 days as a pilot at this rate and revisit the retainer as the channel proves out.
- Territory: Eastern Shore to start, with room to expand across the Mid-Atlantic as we grow.
- Support: you get the full outreach playbook, workshop deck, scripts, and direct access to LJ and Eugene.
